Artist Statement- 2016
Why do I create my work? I create my work for myself. This year i learned that the art that i create isn't really for pleasing others or fitting into their view of art. I like to create things that basically tell a story that everyone can relate to. My goal i guess is to get a person to see something so simple, like a bench to look composed and to look interesting i guess.
My style i think hasn't changed but it has upgraded in a sense. I still kept my subject matter with the idea of photographing things you see in everyday life. I don't know know why but i have always been fascinated with the simplicity of things. I'm not really drawn to photography that is staged with lights and makeup and different production. I think that my personality really kinda shows through some of my photography. Last year i wrote that my style is laid back and i think that's true. I usually do all my photography digitally but i really like working with film, i feel like if the light meters worked and the app was better i would do my AP rolls in film.
My current work i think could get better but had defiantly improved. I consider now making snap shot pictures more composed. Last year i wanted to venture out in bigger cities and i think this year i kinda stopped what people thought of me and i just pictures of random people in the streets, yeah they stare at me weird but I'm never going to see them again, you know. I'm going to explore more in different cites i really want to travel more. I feel as i growing older, as we are a the point of graduating high school my images will keep evolving to my personality.

Artist Statement- 2015
Why do I create my work? I create my images because it's fun to tell a story using a single image. I like photography because you can take a image of something that you see everyday, like a person in your life, a beautiful landscape or as simple as the texture of the street we walk on everyday. My goal as a photographer is to be as well rounded as possible instead of having a specific subject matter. I like to take images that are things you see everyday but sometimes you don't get to appreciate because you see it everyday. I want to produce images that make other people look at the simple thing a bit more.
The process of taking images can be difficult sometimes if you have a tricky subject matter. When the subject matter gets tricky you have remember that it's open to your interpretation, and can do what ever you want to do. I don't really like to plan out my images because i feel like if you plan you miss out on other ideas that come out of the blue. When i get my subject matter i like to pick up a camera and just go shoot what i see. I think my style of photography would be laid-back. I really don't like images that have a hundred things going on. I like finding something and photographing it,well. I think it goes back to liking the simple things in life. Im a person who really doesn't see or care about things like brands or value.
My recent work has developed through out the years. I use to take images that where every boring, not using any of the principles of composition. I think now when i take an images i try to get different values and try to use textures in the image. I think the way i live my life is a big influence on my photography. I don't have big huge and expensive things but i don't care because i appreciate all that i have. I have more than i need actually. Having that mentality i believe you get to see the world in your own unique way. I want to explore more taking images in bigger cites and where there is a lot of diversity and people that have stories, places that have stories, and things that have stories. Everything has a story.
